Open Window

There are two flies, maybe three, buzzing around my bedroom and lounging on my laundry. They are also drawn to the power cord of my laptop, I guess because of its heat. I wish I could swat them, but they are too fast, or I'm too slow. Or both. They came in through the open window on the sun porch- the screens are off since getting repainted.
I drank about a cup and a half of coffee this morning while working at the Daily. That's more than I've had in a while and I'm really feeling it. I'd usually be taking a midday nap by now, but not today.
I want to go to a show tonight, but I picked up a shift at work. Maybe the trade-off will be worth it, and I'll make the big bucks. And maybe the show will run late. Those are my wishes for today.
I made a good lunch and am looking forward to leftovers for dinner- penne with basil, broccoli and walnuts. I've been trying new recipes. This one is simple but such a tasty combination.
I'm going to go wash my hair now. It needs a trim, too.
