frEYEday

Month long vacation, huh? Well, that puts me in April and a month away from summer break. Things to look forward to: 2 books, 1 website, 5 prints, 2 research papers, 1 presentation, wisdom teeth removal, packing up my bedroom. The list may be longer, but I don't remember the rest right now. I woke up an hour later than usual, skipping my morning routine of time-wasting and breakfast-eating. It is cold, maybe in the fifties (yes that is cold to me). I just got some pictures of my nephew playing in the Colorado snow and that, I believe, is the real cold.

Easter is this weekend so I'm headed to SC after work. I plan on dying eggs and eating jelly beans and chocolate rabbits. The egg dying is fun but I really can't stand the vinegar's smell. That really is one of my least favorite smells. When I was younger, my mom was thrilled to find out that vinegar was an antiseptic, so she mopped the kitchen floor with it, filling the house with that pungent vinegar scent. Dying eggs won't be that bad I guess.

This is the "World's Largest Easter Egg," located in Canada.
Speaking of places other than my USA, I'll be leaving for Italy soon. I bought some new shoes for the trip and dropped the most cash I ever had on a pair. When I brought them home and tried them out with my wardrobe, however, they looked rather wonky or wacky or earthy or silly. They were Clarks Trek for women, an awesome shoe, but they just didn't work. Maybe if they came in patent leather.

left: original desert trek right: red patent leather?

Now that I see them both, neither looks that good. I returned the ones I bought because of this.
